their community, their needs
Before we implement any programs in any community, our organization spends a great deal of time getting to know those we seek to help a little better. As part of this process, our field team organizes panel discussions and workshops with villagers in order to assess what they feel are the development priorities for their villages.
This year-long process has led us to the conclusion that, not unlike other communities in need, clean water and better nutrition were the priority, with 40% of Cambodia's children stunted because of malnutrition; but don't take our word for it! And check out the "Sen Sok Stories Volume I" in which villagers share with us the impact of our work.
This participatory approach to community development and has also helped us accomplish the most good in the while building a great working relationship with the villagers, learn more.
